Café da Silva

Internationally revered Brazilian master drummer, Café da Silva, anchors the percussion section for various Bacchus music ensembles (including our theatrical musical dance extravaganza, Ashé: Rhythms of the Americas) and regularly performs with major international music artists including David Byrne, Paul Simon, Aretha Franklin, Dave Matthews, Stevie Wonder, Sting, Peter Gabriel, et al.


Carlos Eguis-Aguila

Carlos Eguis-Aguila

Affectionately known as Carlos "Quinto", this Havana-born Cuban percussionist/vocalist is one of the last great living master rumberos - an expert in that most quintessential afro-Cuban rhythm, the rumba. A member of some of the most important afro-Cuban folkloric groups (including Comparsa Jardinera, Tercio Moderno and Los Principales, the performing/touring group of the legendary, Celeste Mendoza), Carlos is the leader of the Orchestra of the Americas and ¡KÚBA! percussion sections.

Donna Rheims

Actress, choreographer, composer and multilingual vocalist, the beautiful and elegant Donna Rheims began her career as a teenager, performing with dance bands throughout Germany, Europe and Asia. Since emigrating to the US in the late '90's, she's worked with some of the most important artists on the pop, R&B and Latin music scenes. Eldio "Cabello" Rolim

This handsome and talented Brazilian does dangerous double-duty as one of the world's premiere percussionists and master of capoeira; a native Brazilian form of martial arts and dance, originally imported by Angolan African slaves. Now based in the USA, he regularly performs with Samba Samba 2000, ¡KÚBA! and in the samba, batucada, macumba, condomble and capoeira segments of our theatrical musical dance extravaganza, Ashé: Rhythms of the Americas.

This is the talented young bassist everyone is talking about. One of the newest members of the Bacchus Group family, jazz pianist Kelly Brand has made a national name for herself as a member of various acclaimed ensembles and leader of her own excellent jazz groups. She's performed as a solo pianist for numerous hi-profile Bacchus events and we look forward to her upcoming performances with several of our proprietary ensembles.

Leon Joyce, Jr.

Known affectionately as "a drummer's drummer", ex-US Marine Leon Joyce, Jr. is currently a featured member of jazz legend Ramsey Lewis' trio. When not touring in some exotic part of the world, he performs with numerous Bacchus music ensembles including Orchestra of the Americas, Sorcerers of Swing, the Bacchus Soul Orchestras and The Wonder Band. American-born Leo Traversa is internationally-recognized as the bassist of choice for many top World Music stars from Brazil, the Caribbean, Cape Verde, Ireland and Africa. With superb tone and oodles of technique, he is masterful in virtually any music genre. Mick Labriola

Internationally acclaimed as one of the grand masters of contemporary Middle Eastern and Mediterranean rhythms, Labriola is a virtuoso of the cajón, a wooden box-drum integral to all flamenco gypsy music. Originally from Sevilla, Spain, this stunning flamenco dancer has performed in all of the major capitols of Europe, Moscow, Beijing, Tokyo, throughout South America, and the USA In between his busy performing and teaching schedule, we are delighted that he still makes time to perform with The Flamenco Kings and in the flamenco segment of our theatrical musical dance extravaganza, Ashé: Rhythms of the Americas.

Victor Miranda

Armed with degrees in both classical violin and classical guitar, this legendary young Cuban bassist recently defected to the United States. He is quickly making a name for himself on the North American and European music scene, by virtue of his mesmerizing technique and musicality. He's performed, toured and recorded with every major Cuban orchestra of the past decade and will soon be heard on several upcoming US releases covering all music genres from jazz to funk to R&B to funk to rock and of course, Latin. We welcome him to the USA and are delighted that he's made time to perform with our Orchestra of the Americas and ¡KÚBA!

Wilson "Chembo" Corniel

Based in New York City, this Puerto Rican-born master drummer is one of the most favored recording and performing musicians on the international music scene. He's worked with every major Latin artist in the world including the late Tito Puente and Celia Cruz. Given his busy touring and recording schedule, we are delighted that he's made time to perform with several Bacchus music ensembles including our Orchestra of the Americas and ¡KÚBA!
