Orchestra of the Americas was the Official Dance Band of the '96 Centennial Olympics and the 2000 and 2004 Summer Olympics; and performed at the '94 World Cup, the 2004 Euro Cup, and SuperBowls '97, '98 and '99.
The band has entertained important international political dignitaries including Mexican President Vicente Fox, Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi and Russian President Vladimir Putin; cultural icons maestro Daniel Barenboim, conductor of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Academy Award-winning film director, Martin Scorsese, and Nobel Prize-winning novelist, Gabriel García Marquez; and US political dignitaries including President Bill Clinton, Secretary of State Colin Powell, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and Illinois Senator Barack Obama.
